All you have to do in war is to have a higher card than the Dealer. War is dealt with just 1 deck of cards and these cards are re-shuffled after each hand. If the player's card is higher, then the player wins at even money of the original wager.

If the value of both the player's card and the dealer's card is the same, the player can either fold or choose to go to war by raising the bet - the raise has to be equal to the original wager. If the player folds, the amount wagered is lost.

If the player decides to raise, an amount equal to the original wager is added to the bet and both the dealer and player get dealt three cards face down these are 'burn cards' that do not come into play, and then they are dealt a card face-up.

The highest face-up card wins.

In the case of a win, player receives even money at the amount wagered plus the raise amount returned. The player always wins any ties after going to war.

The player wins when:
The players' card is ranked higher than the dealers' card

The player loses when:
The dealers card outranks the player's card.
