Windsor Racecourse
Set a few miles from the centre of the town, Windsor offers racegoers the unique opportunity to reach the course via the Thames. A boat leaves regularly from near the train station direct to the course which is about as sedate a way to get to the races as you can get.
Apart from the trip down the river, Windsor is most renowned for its regular Monday evening meetings during the summer. They have an informal feel and attract a relaxed crowd.

Course - Flat: Figure of eight track which is a little over 1m4f in distance. The course is level throughout and has a long run-in.
Course - Jump: This is much the same as the flat course in character, it has been temporarily re-intstated while Ascot is renovated.
By Road: Royal Windsor Racecourse is on the main A308 between Windsor and Maidenhead. From the M4 leave at junction 6 and follow the signs to Windsor.
By Rail: There are frequent British Rail services from Waterloo to Windsor and Eton Riverside directly. Also trains run from Paddington and Reading to Slough where you should change trains for Windsor Central. From both stations head for Barry Avenue Promenade on the Thames and catch the Riverbus to the racecourse.
